Program overview
The BWC schedules independent medical exams to clarify an injured worker's medical and disability status; the Industrial Commission's examiners manual covers IME/file review reports and PTD examinations.
Mandatory exams
Ohio law mandates certain defense medical exams: after 90 consecutive days of temporary total disability and at the 200-week mark.
Ohio runs a IME / DME programme and rates on edition set by agency (BWC policy). The rating standard is set by the jurisdiction, not by the examiner, so the same clinical findings can produce different numbers across the 10 states profiled here.
